Do the swellings all over my body require surgery?
Q: I have fatty glands on the surface of my skin all over the body. I consulted a doctor who said it is lipoma. He said that as long as the glands are painless, there is no harm. I don't have nay pain in them but all these glands are quite visible. Most of them are on my arms so I feel disgusted to wear half sleeved shirts. They are spreading all over my body. Is there any medication to cure it?
A:It seems you are suffering from a condition called lipomatosis. These lumps require treatment if they are - a) painful b) growing c) causing cosmetic problem. Please consult a plastic surgeon. There is no medication to cure it.
