Discharge from ear

Q: My daughter is 4.5 month old. Last week she had fever and we gave crossin drops. After 3 days fever subsided. But next day there was some discharge, (thick greenish)from her left ear. It was odourless but sticky. So how it happened? If it is oozed from the inner ear, the perforation so happened will heal in later stage? What are the precautions we should take in future? We are very much worried about this. Pl. advice. Now we are giving antibiotics. Will it occur in future?

A:It would appear that she has had an ear infection and possibly the ear drumhas been perforated. It shhould heal after antibiotics, over a period oftime. It could recur in the future, when she has a cold or blocked nose. Iwould strongly recommend that you should consult an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)specialist.
