Could a vitamin deficiency be the cause of my skin problem?

Q: I am 30 years old. My skin, just from where the finger nails start, comes off frequently. I have been applying lots of moisturisers but to no avail. Could this be due to any vitamin deficiency? What kind of medicine should I apply on my hands as most of the time I keep my hands covered in bandage.

A:You may be suffering from finger tip eczema, acrodermatitis continua, or parakeratosis pustulosa. Unless examined in detail and investigations are done, it is difficult to give any correct diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult a dermatologist.
