Children - allergy to insect bites

Q: My 4 year old daughter is often getting blisters in hand as well as in legs. We consulted skin specialists and each time they say it might be because of spider bite or some insects in the grass. Please help me as I am sick of seeing her suffering very often almost once in 10 days.

A:If all the doctors are saying the same thing, then PROBABLY the child issuffering from an unusual reaction to insect bites. In almost all cases, thechild grows out of this situation. This may happen in a few months or as late as 8 years of age. Till then one has to take preventive measures by making the child wear protective clothes, by not taking the child near greenery, by removing flower pots from the house and by using appropriate insecticides. Otherwise the child will be bitten, will have the reaction and then will have to be given medicines depending upon the severity and extent of the problem.
