Can sex affect my replaced hip joint?

Q: I am 25 years old. I had undergone total hip replacement surgery last year. I had no pain after the operation in that joint. I am totally fit and have no problems. Is there any research going on full degree of flexibility of movement till 170 degrees? Will there be problems in having sex? Can the joint get loose in sex? What is the life span of joint replacement (metal on metal)? How successful is the surgery?

A:Currently available implants do not allow hip flexion beyond 120 degrees. Sex life will not lead to loosening of implant. Long term reports on survival of the surface replacement are not available. The seven to ten year results have been published and are good. So it is difficult to tell you how long your joint will last.
