Can pain and swelling in the breast be cancer?
Q: I have got a swelling (which appears only sometimes) in both my breasts, but I do feel pain only in my left breast that too not very severe. But since four to five days, I feel a bit of pain in my underarm and also in the neck. I have nothing as hard to be called a lump. But sometimes the nipples of both my breasts are flat. I am only 21 yrs old and there is no family history of breast cancer in our family. Can I with the symptoms mentioned above be suffering from the same? I am totally confused and afraid as I am getting married after 5 months.
A:Pain in the breast and underarm/neck are common symptoms in young ladies of your age. These symptoms are probably due to your anxiety regarding your forthcoming marriage. You should not even think about breast cancer. All these symptoms will settle down in due course. If you are really worried then you should go and see a doctor.
