Can I donate blood if I have a skin disorder?
Q: My blood group is O negative. Since this is a very rare group, I wish to donate blood. I have an allergy called urticaria and I am taking the Cetgel medicine every fourth day. Please tell me whether I can donate blood with this allergic problem?
A:People who are on treatment for diseases are generally not taken as blood donors. But blood donating policies may vary from one blood bank to another. Although you have a rare blood group it is best that you do not donate for the present.
