Can I do walking and jogging after a ligament tear?
Q: Recently I suffered an ankle sprain and went to a doctor who examined my ankle and suggested an x-ray. On seeing the x-ray, he told me that 1 of the 3 ligaments in the ankle was torn i.e. the posterior talofibular ligament. He suggested crepe bandage and asked me to take Movon tablets twice daily. Can I do walking and jogging daily or should I follow some physiotherapy exercises?
A:For a few days avoid long walks and exercises. Slow active movements of ankle and foot should be stared after 2 weeks and gradually more exercises and walking can be resumed. PWD treatment at physiotherapy centre would give good relief in pain.
