Q: I had a terrible rash when I went to the ocean (east coast) to Atlantic city and the Florida beaches. When I sat down in the first row to watch the whales, wherever the water hit me, I broke out in a bad rash which was red and itchy. I can't go tot he beach anymore. What is wrong?

A:There is a condition - aquagenic dermatitis - where exposure to water precipitates itching and at times a rash. A visit to the dermatologist is advisable.
