Are ther any Q rings available for arthritis?

Q: I want to ask some questions regarding my mother. She is having arthritis knee joint problem. I have heard that in the foreign countries they have developed certain Q-Rings which is a good for these type of problems. But I am unable to find who is selling these q-rings. Please help me in finding the same or let me know the other kind of solutions to this problem.

A:I am a bit disappointed that even in this modern time people still believe in unproven, unscientific forms of treatment. It is obvious that your mother has knee osteoarthritis which is a degenerative disease due to non-physiological use of the knee joint that most of us (Indians) indulge in since childhood (sitting crosslegged, squatting, sitting of the floor or low chairsetc.). I strongly recommend that you immediately contact any of the rheumatologist in ASIIMS, Apollo,Sir Ganga Ram Hospital or Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (Vasant Kunj) for proper diagnosis and treatment. I not aware of the type of device or treatment that you have mentioned.
