Am I suffering from some serious ailment?

Q: I am 33 years old. I have been diagnosed with thickened gall bladder wall with collapsed lumen peri-portal cuffing. What is it and how serious is it? I have also been detected with jaundice. My haematology report is Hb-11.7, ESR-15 and liver function test report is bilirubin total-5.2, bilirubin direct-2.9, total proteins-6.6, albumin-2.4, SGOT-1350, SGPT-1280, and alkaline phosphatase-332. Am I suffering from some serious ailment?

A:Your liver tests show that you have acute hepatitis. You need to get more tests done to find out the cause of your hepatitis. In general, acute hepatitis is self-limiting and most people recover but whether you need any treatment in the future will depend on the results of your tests. Therefore, you should consult a gastroenterologist for proper management.
