Q: I am a 23 years old male. I swallowed a steel coin when I was 12 years old. I didn't tell this to my parents out of fear. Would the coin cause some health problem to me in future? Can any scan or X-ray locate that coin in my body?

A:The coin must have passed with stool long long ago. Just to make you reassured, you can get an X-ray (no need for any other test or scan) of abdomen done. A steel coin would show if it is present though there is hardly any chance.
