Will vitiligo affect my wife's pregnancy?

Q: My 59 years old mother is suffering from Leucoderma for the last 40 years. Now, my wife is pregnant and is in her sixth month of pregnancy. Her skin is also getting white like leucoderma. How can leucoderma be treated?

A:Vitiligo (also called leukoderma by some) is a harmless disease. One caution: during pregnancy initiate with only mild medicines - those which can be applied externally. Since vitiligo is a harmless disorder, it may not be wrong to wait till the delivery of baby, and then start treatment.
