Why do I get pus formation in my vagina after sex?

Q: I am 26 years old, not married and sexually active with my boyfriend from the past 2.5 years. I often get infected with pus formation in my vagina. After I make love to him, my vagina starts burning and soon gets infected. I feel like peeing again and again. Instead, every minute I feel like using the rest room. My boyfriend is very clean but still I get infected. I have visited my doctor and tired of taking tablets. Can you please advise me on this?

A:Your problem is likely to be Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). Since this problem is recurrent, despite repeated treatments from gynaecologist; it is better that both you and your partner get examined together and take treatment. Sometimes the male partner may not have symptoms, but that does not mean he is clean. More importantly, you should search for one stable relationship and get married. At the moment, you could take these medicines- Tablet Azithromycin 2 gm orally only today, Tablet Metronidazole 400 mg three times orally daily for 7 days and Candidvaginal tablet 200 mg deep intravaginally at night time for 3 days. If you do not respond consult a good dermatovenereologist. Get yourself and your partner screened for HIV antibodies and VDRL test. If your partner does not co-operate avoid him and search for a durable stable partnership. Avoid sexual relations during therapy course. After that if you cannot avoid sexual relations with that boyfriend, ask him to use condom consistently and regularly in all sexual acts. Condoms give protection to some extent, but not 100 percent. There is no-thing better than a mutual faithful sexual relation after marriage or abstinence before marriage.
