Why did we bleed after our first sexual intercourse?

Q: My husband & me had sex for the first time. First, he tried with the condom and I bled 2 drops. The next time he tried without the condom & he bled profusely. In fact he's still bleeding a bit. He went for a bath & noticed the skin has come out. Is there anything to worry? Should he apply some medicine? Is it safe to have sex next time? We both are scared, as it was painful for both of us.

A:What happened with you is perfectly normal. There is nothing to worry about! Avoid penetrative intercourse if and till it is painful. Let the wounds heal completely and it may take couple of days. Maintain cleanliness/hygiene. Always engage into prolonged, mutually satisfying foreplay before penetration and also use good amount of lubricant such as KY jelly next time to minimize possible trauma/injury.
