What is the scope of occupational therapy as a career?

Q: What is the scope of occupational therapy in India after 5 years? How much is the income in it? Is it better to choose this career? I am pursuing a bachelor course of it in SVNIRTAR. Please give me some information about it so that I can focus on my career.

A:Occupational therapists provide assessment and therapeutic programmes for people who, because of illness, injury or circumstances are limited in their abilities, to undertake the task and activities of daily life. They can work in public hospitals, spastic centres, psychiatric centres as well as old age homes and burns and leprosy centres. They can also work in private clinics, child development centres and also be a part of teaching institutions. As far as the income is concerned, I feel that your abilities will dictate the figure.
