Q: I am 33 years old. I sweat a lot during the day and as a result I have severe itching around my hips. I bathe twice a day and keep myself dry as much as possible. I also have fungal infection between my legs and the entire area on the skin is black in colour. This problem is there for over five years and I have consulted several dermatologists and taken treatment, but nothing helped. The problem still persists; kindly suggest me some remedy?

A:Your problem could be that of tinea cruris, but its confirmation require clinical examination and KOH examination of skin scrapings from that site. If your diagnosis is tinea cruris (after consultation with a dermatologist), then you can take oral anti fungal like Zimig (terbinafine) 250 mg once daily for 2 weeks only. For first week, you may take antipruritic agent like tablet Atarax 10 mg at night time daily.
