Q: I have a pea sized hard formation on my scrotum (under the skin), which appears white. This has been present for quite some time (over 10 years). There is no pain, though skin overall is slightly itchy. There are minute (barely visible) formations of similar kind over the skin of penis and scortum.I would like to know the nature of probem, medication and also recommendation on a doctor I can consult in Mumbai.Thanks and regards

A:The swelling on the scrotum is probably a sebaceouscyst. Treatment is surgical. You may contact anysurgeon. Some dermatologists can also remove it.The barely visible dots on the shaft of penis, is mostprobably due to hypertrophic sebaceous glands. Howeverit needs to be confirmed by clinical examination.Small pale dots can be seen even in lichen nitidus.
