Q: Since 1997 my mother is suffering from a disease classified as Pulmonary fibrosis of the lungs. She is on oxygen, Pedisolone and Immuron tablets. Her condition seems to be deteriorating. What is the life span and medication for this disease?

A:Pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic progressive lung disease and unfortunately there is no definite cure. The conditon eventually causes respiratory failure but the outlook can be improved with the treatment your mother is receiving. I am sorry to say that long term prognosis is poor.
