Q: Please let me know about toned & double toned milk because as a ketoacidocis patient the said preparation is not available in the local area. Available milk is homogenized, pasteurised, fat 3%/5% cow milk in packet. Can it be consumed by boiling & removing upper layer or fresh cow milk to be consumed anyway? Please advise.
A:If you have been asked to consume toned milk or double toned milk it implies that the fat percentage should be between 1.5% to 3.5%. You may go ahead with the milk 3% homogenized. However, it may be preferable to use cows milk by boiling and removing the cream completely. This would amount to about 2.5% fat.
