Is this combination of medicines safe?
Q: What is the purpose for using the combination of ciprofloxacin and tinidazole?
A:A fixed-dose combination of ciprofloxacin and tinidazole is scientifically irrational and potentially dangerous. Such a combination is not permitted to be sold in any advanced country. In the absence of proper and correct diagnosis, some doctors use it to treat diarrhoea as a form of poly-pharmacy hoping that one of the two ingredients will hit the undiagnosed disorder. However such usage can lead to bacterial resistance particularly typhoid apart from causing many side effects.
