Is sitting in front of computer during pregnancy safe?
Q: I am in my 8th week of pregnancy. My first sonogram report that was done in the 6th week showed: gestational sac size: 1.3 cms, yolk size: 0.43 cms. The second scan done in 7.2 weeks from LMP showed 1.68 cm size of gestational sac, CRL: 0.68 cm, heart beat: 129 BPM. Are the readings normal? Is sitting in front of computer during pregnancy harmful for the baby?
A:The readings for gestational sac size, yolk sac size, embryonic crown-rump length and heart rate are all in the normal range. Many years ago a medical study found a significantly higher rate of miscarriage in women over 35 years who were sitting in front of computer terminals during the first three months of pregnancy. It is currently recommended that pregnant women should spend no more than 3 hours a day in front of a computer screen in the first three months of pregnancy.
