Is it all right for a child to eat raw vegetables?

Q: My 20 months old daughter likes to eat raw tomatoes. She eats half a tomato per day. As she eats very less otherwise, I thought I could give her at least what she likes to eat. Can I continue giving her this? Will eating raw vegetables at this age affect her stomach/health? Please advise.

A:You can give her raw vegetables, but you need to clean them very well, to avoid any kind of infection. In rainy season, try and give more of cooked food, in form of vegetables or soups.
