Q: I have taken Hepatitis B vaccine twice but both the times the vaccination was incomplete as I missed out on the third dose. Do I still need to go in for a fresh round of immunisation programme or will these suffice? Also, if I have to take a new vaccine then are all the 3 doses to be taken again?

A:You can take the third dose now for complete immunisation if the last dose was taken less than one year ago. In this case there is no need for repeating the earlier two doses. If more than 2-3 years have elapsed between your last dose, you may need to undergo the entire course. However, it would be useful to get your antibody tested for knowing if you are already protected from your earlier experience.
