Do I have mild typhoid?
Q: I have been suffering from mild fever, temperature ranging between 99 degrees to 99.8 degrees since the last one month. Generally at evenings I have high temperature. I also feel sick and tired with a mild stomach upset. I went to the doctor who suggested a blood test for typhoid. The report shows I have a mild typhoid - S. typhi O - 1:80 and S. typhi - 1:80. Do I need to take medicines for mild typhoid?
A:A low grade fever which increases towards evening could be due to many causes. Tuberculosis is one of the possibilities. Widal test with a titre of 1/80 is very unlikely to be typhoid. You should get yourself investigated thoroughly after consulting a good physician.
