Do almonds increase cholesterol levels in infancy?

Q: I have a 1 year old son. When he was 4 months old I started giving him almonds every day. Shall I continue giving it or stop it? Do almonds lead to cholesterol increase?

A:Cholesterol does not increase in infancy. If your son has tolerated almonds in any form at 4 months of age, he may continue. You should not feel concerned about cholesterol atleast till he is 3 years of age.
