Dengue, a Flavivirus and Chikungunya, an Alphavirus, transmitted by the Aedes mosquito, are a cause of great concern to public health in India. Last year, approximately 58,000 cases of Chikungunya and more than a lakh cases of Dengue were reported across the country.
