Would taking female hormones cause me any harm?

Q: I am a 16 years old transsexual male. I would like to have female hormones. Would it have any adverse effect on my body and would my parents come to know about this if I take female hormones? Would my breast also enlarge?

A:If you start taking female hormones (oestrogens), within few months you will start getting changes and you will not be able to hide these. Breast will also enlarge along with other changes. You can take only these hormones under medical advice and not otherwise. Before taking any decision you, must consult in detail with an endocrinologist and a psychologist and your parents must be present during the consultation.
