Q: I am a 29-year-old male, and have been diagnosed with pulmonary Kochs. I have a six-week-old son who has been given BCG. Are there still chances that he will get the infection from me?
A:Your child may need to go on prophylaxis or treatment for tuberculosis after a thorough history, examination and investigations by an experienced paediatrician. Usually, children at this age are unlikely to have frank tuberculosis, but may need to be protected from acquiring the disease.
