Q: My son is 9 years old. He had no testicles at the time of birth. In a recent ultrasound nothing was noticeable on the screen. Surgery also didn't show any signs of testicles. Is there a possibility to do anything for him?
A:If the doctors are certain that both the testes are missing then your child will need a hormonal assessment at puberty, around 11 years of age. If at all there is any doubt about the presence or absence of the testes, then your child needs a diagnostic laparoscopy.
