Will a scrotal support help in curing varicocoele?

Q: I am 17 years old. What does a scrotal support do for people with varicocoele? Does it help in curing the condition? Will the purple veins go away? I don't have any pain, so why do I have to use a scrotal support? Is it similar to a hernia support? Will a cup supporter help?

A:Varicocoele will never go by any support, so don't bother. See a urologist for the problem. Usually nothing is done for varicocoele at your age. This is a normal finding in 10% of boys. It requires surgery if you have testicular pain (uncommon) or you are rejected from a job like in army or police. Other reasons for operation doesn't matter to you since you are young.
