Q: My mother is 61 years old. She had undergone intra ocular lense(phacoemulsification) surgery recently. She is not able to see objects properly following surgery and seems to be seeing flashes from that eye. According to the eye surgeon, the lens has been properly inserted. What should I do?
A:The best way to find out if the lens and operation are satisfactory is to have new glasses. If the vision does not improve significantly, then either there is associated disease or that the operation did not go well. Even if it is only 2 weeks since the operation, the vision should be a lot better with new glasses.
