Why has my ten days old daughter developed swollen breasts?

Q: My ten days old daughter has developed swollen breasts. Her medical reports are normal. Why has my daughter suddenly developed swollen breasts? Kindly advise.

A:Swelling of breasts is a common finding in newborn babies. This occurs because of influence of mother's hormones. It subsides in a few days spontaneously. It is totally harmless & needs no management.
