Q: My father, 57 years old, has a urological problem. A few days back he stopped passing urine. What can I do for him? He has had an ultrasound, which is fine.

A:Well, urinary retention is an emergency and if that is the case of your father, then probably it would have been taken care of by now. However, if you have not consulted any doctor so far, it would be better if you could see a urologist rather than getting piecemeal investigations, as they would not mean anything to you.
