Q: It's been 6 months since my marriage. After coming home from work and a game of badminton, my husband does not have any interest in sex. Even when he feels, he does not ejaculate. Earlier, he used to ejaculate very fast. He drinks quite often and smokes too. What could be the reason for his not ejaculating?

A:Both the stress at work and the alcohol intake can affect sexual performance. Smoking over long term can affect the quality of erection as well as seminal quality. The description of your husbands’ problem is varying, lack of interest in sex to early ejaculation couple of months back to absent ejaculation now. You must know that problems in erection and ejaculation will have different causes. While most problems in sexual performance at this age and settings would be psychological, early or delayed ejaculation may have organic causes. You must discuss this with your partner and convince him to consult a specialist who would be able to sort the problem going into detailed history and relevant tests.
