Q: My daughter having weight 66 kg and 150 cm height, is 11 years old and is being treated with Decapeptyl for one year. Due to precocious puberty her blood pressure is 140/85 mmHg. What can I do about the decapeptyl treatment?

A:Your daughter's high blood pressure is unlikely to be related to Decapeptyl. She weighs too much for her height and her weight or other cause, is more likely to affect her blood pressure (BP). You should get her BP checked a few times to make sure that it is persistently high and then get her evaluated for the cause. As far as the decapeptyl shots are concerned, I cannot comment whether they need to be continued or not since a detailed history and bone age, etc. would be needed to make the decision.
