Q: My son is 2 and a half-year-old. He is smart & active, but when compared with other children of his age group, he speaks less. Normally whenever he feels like, he says father, mother, and food & sometime he counts from 1 to 10. But if I try to teach him something new, he does not learn. How to change his habit?

A:Children are different from each other and there is no need to make your son conform to the average. Let him learn as he plays, hears you talk, sees his mother cut vegetables and cook, listens to music, plays with blocks. Learning naturally is the best way. There is no need to teach him anything specifically. He could listen to children's music and to classical music. Please do not push him to do anything.
