Why do my son's ears get heated occasionally?

Q: My son always faces a problem of heated ears and occasionally a heated stomach too. To get rid of the problem, he puts something cold on his ears. He is frustrated due to this. He also seems to be a bit hyper because he gets excited very quickly.

A:This is a normal autonomic variation. Nothing much can be done about this, however it is a benign condition and does not have any short or long term implications.
