Why do I have rashes on my eyelids?

Q: I am a 33 years old housewife with slim body. My problem is I am having rashes on my eyelids (like dandruff). I used to apply oils to remove this but still it is troubling me a lot, please help me.

A:It could be squamous blepharitis. A topical medication consisting of an antibiotic and corticosteroid like Sofradex cream can be used. If no relief occurs in a week time, do consult a dermatologist and an ophthalmologist. Other possible causes could be phthiriasis palpebrum, contact dermatitis to nail polish, etc.
