Q: I had a urinalysis done and the result shows that there are numerous pus cells. The red blood cells ranges from 5-10. What does it mean? Do I have to take any medication?

A:The finding of numerous pus cells and RBCs in urine definitely means presence of a disease. Clinical diagnosis will depend on the presence or absence, and the kind of symptoms. You have not specified any symptoms in your mail. Such finding would most commonly arise from an inflammatory disease of the urinary tract, acute or chronic. Other causes would include stone disease and even some malignant diseases of the urinary passage.
