Why do I get leg pain after sex?

Q: I am a 25 years old sexually active man and whenever I have sex I get pain in my right leg. Please advise.

A:By leg is usually meant the calf region. Such pain is most likely to be related to posture and muscular contraction during intercourse. Sexual excitement causes hypertonia of the muscles. If you are in the missionary position and your body weight is on your hyper-extended toes, for instance, such pain can occur. Try different positions and see if there is relief.
