Why do I feel strain in my throat while singing?

Q: I am a 16 years old singer and I have done 2 big shows about two and a half months ago. Lately, within the last month, I have been having a lot of trouble with my singing. My voice is not hoarse, but I clear my throat many a times and feel a lot of strain while singing. My actual voice is not noticeably different; it’s just hard to sing. I am afraid that I won't be able to sing anymore. How can I get my voice back? Please help.

A:Please consult a good ENT specialist. It is possible that you may have developed some nodules or ulcers on your vocal cords due to excessive usage or due to a mixture of reasons. But nothing to worry if this turns out to be the case then it is curable. But get yourself examined first to know the exact status of your vocal cords, only then the future course of action can be decided upon.
