Q: I am 31 years old and get irritation in both the eyes along with itching whenever I go out in sunlight. What is the reason for this itching and irritation in both the eyes? Is this an allergy? Which medicine or eye drop can I take?

A:The commonest cause for itching and irritation in the eyes is a combination of allergy and mild dryness in the eyes. Use of anti-allergic drops such as dopatidine combined with a tear substitute/lubricant may help alleviate symptoms. The person must consult an eye specialist before starting any medication as these drop tend to be used in long-term.
