Q: I am a 31 years old man getting a burning sensation after urinating for the last few days, which lasts for 30 seconds. Though I have taken medicine for urinary tract infection (UTI) and I am fine now but I sometimes feel a little discomfort below my testis. What could be the reason?

A:Burning at end of urination is called terminal dysuria. While mild discomfort may occur with concentrated urine, or with certain spicy foods, persistent terminal dysuria may occur with inflammatory conditions affecting bladder or prostatic region, as well as with stones in bladder or terminal ureter. Even some cancers of bladder may present with irritative urinary symptoms. You need to have routine urine test and an ultrasound examination of urinary tract as a baseline and consult a urologist.
