Q: My daughter is 1 year 8 months old. Her eyes have been watering since she was born. Do I need to show her to a doctor or will it get cured as she grows up? I read somewhere that its due to tear ducts being blocked!
A:Your information is right that watering of eyes beyond newborn period and infancy is because of blocked nasolacrimal duct. What you need to do is to learn massage of Lacrimal sac which your pediatrician or the ophthalmologist should be able to do. Most often it resolves with effective massage over a period of time. In rare cases if it doesnt then syringing can be done to open up the duct.
