Q: I am a 28 years old woman trying to conceive for the last six months but unsuccessfully. We've been timing the ovulation day correctly. I also experience mild ovulation pain. I underwent a surgery for a mucinous cyst of the ovary a year back. The follow-up ultrasound scan showed that my ovaries are ovulating normally. My husband's sperm analysis is also normal. Why am I unable to conceive?
A:You just need to try timing the coitus in the middle 15 days of the cycle. Egg formation happens on day 14 from the date menses start and you may get pregnant. It can take from 3-6 months. Later, if there is no success, you can try for egg forming drugs and pregnancy with that, but only after testing that the tubes are open.
