When would my child's testicles enter the scrotal sac?

Q: My 10 days old child weighing 3.5 kg has been diagnosed with clubfoot (CTEV) – rigid and is undergoing serial correction plaster therapy. The doctor told us that treatment procedure might take 5 - 6 months. It was also found that his testicles have not entered the scrotal sac yet. Both of the testicles seem near the sack (just besides the penis) but haven't entered the sack yet. He urinates well. The doctor has told us that if my child's condition doesn't improve in another few weeks, he will require a surgery. When would my child's testicles enter the scrotal sac? Do home remedies help?
A:Testicles may sometimes descend on their own over a period of 6 - 9 months. However, if they don't descend surgical intervention may be needed by a year of age. No home remedies help and are not required. For the treatment of clubfoot you are on the right track.
