When will insulin inhalers be available?

Q: Is inhaled insulin available in India? Can I procure it from abroad and use it in place of my injectable insulin?

A:Inhaled insulin may be launched in India by this year end. This will control only post meal blood glucose and not pre-meal for which long acting insulin/tablets may be required. This insulin is going to be very expensive. How much - difficult to say. It is not available abroad but will be in the next 2-3 months.
