Q: I would like to know within how many days could we start having sexual after insertion of an IUD?
A:There is no waiting period required after IUD insertion for prevention of pregnancy. I am sure you are aware that failure rate of an IUD is approximately 0.6 to 0.8%, and pregnancies while IUD in place have high incidence of complications and ectopic pregnancy.
