Q: I am a 21 years old male. Every year, as the season changes in the months of March and April, I get an allergy, which leads to bronchitis, heavy cough and loss of appetite. This also happens during Diwali time. I want to know the precautions, the ways in which I can prepare myself for the same. Can this be avoided?

A:Precaution is the best cure. May be a few days before the start of the season, you can take certain medications which help prime the cells for allergy. These medicines are called Mast cell stabilisers. The second thing is that if you know that the season is approaching, try to move out or avoid facing the season. This is the time when pollen shedding is at the maximum.
